Hi guys

I want to know what is the best insurance to insure special edition cars namely m3 e92 ltd Dekar yellow, 1m and m5 pure metal edition. I am currently with bmw insurance, do you guys think it is best to stay with them or change to annother company. And what other companys would be good choice.

Many thanks

1. Stay away from the telephone insurers... they can be more grief than the money saved...

2. Your larger brokered insurance with Santam, M&F, Alex Forbes etc are generally the easier in terms of claims and because of the size of their commercial risk pool aren't afraid to use their chequebook.

3. BMW insurance isn't a bad option and i am sure if you talk to them some leeway can be found with premiums

4. Discovery insure is a big nono...(for a Bmw driver if you insured with them you in the wrong car and you should go straight to Lexus)

Mutual and federal are awesome. Paid out in a week for a car that was written off. I was asked where I'd like the work to be done. There's none of this running around for quotes bullshit.

Success brokers. They usually switch me to the best deal as and when there is a better rate available and they are always reducing premiums as the car depreciates without me having to keep reminding them. Indureres they've switched me to from time to time included M&F, Alexander Forbes etc.

I just did the whole insurance run around, permiums vary depending on excess etc etc, differences as much as 1500 bucks a month, finally settled on I-wiyze, excellent cover, affordable excess and monthly premium. But please thats just my opinion. Always read the fine print!:cartel:

I'd prefer specialist insurance that takes the replacement value into consideration. These beasts are only getting rarer and the usual market value payout is a fraction what it's going to cost to just get you in the same vehicle.

Wish I knew of one though.

NEVER use a tele-surer and if you do NEVER EVER use those scumbags at MiWay. In fact if I ever meet someone from MiWay I will have to leave the area immediately in case I become physically sick. I imagine only human vermin works for them.

Sela Brokers has worked for me for years. They can specify all the extras on your car as well. Can get a certificate from a club/appraiser for replacement value. They also don't quote you 7K+ premiums for a car and try to explain to you why that is good value like Outsurance and MiWay attempt to after a convoluted quoting process.

Ok, my two cents worth. It depends on how you use the cars. I have two M cars, and they are comprehensively insured but my travel is limited to 8000km a year each. For that I pay R2600 per year for both cars. So for not getting driven too much, I don't pay much.......
