According to some numerous google searches and youtube videos...
It seems like the hack for the newer automatic seats have a DIY fix delaing with cables entering the motors mounted underneath.
I did however come across a post (can't remember which forum though - looked at too many open internet tabs) - Where a guy mentioned that it could just be the frame work that has bent over the past 25+ years of getting in and out
And suggested stripping the the back rest and realigning the bent part of the frame (maybe some welding may be needed once straightened if there is cutting involved) back into it's correct position and putting the seat back together
Has anybody tried this???
