Howzit boss, I have my own clearing and orwarding company, what excatly do you want to import, I am sure I can help, but there is a problem with saying it is second hand, rather say it is new so that you do not need permits:thumb:

Oh, you mind if i also ask some questions? :mmm:

Would you have to prove that the goods are new? Or can you just claim they are?

And on new goods, what would the duties be on say an intercooler and piggyback chip? Ive have phoned SARS, but i couldnt understand what the woman was telling me.

Thank you if u can help me too

car parts.. Expect to pay about 40% of purchase price (duties, vat, clearing)

And they can request proof of payment, ie. Bank statement to verify the amount you claim to have paid

there is custom codes for everthing under the sun, anything motor-car related is usually 20% duty, plus vat..

Its not constant.

I ordered from the same supplier twice..

Both times they marked it as 2 GBP value, once I paid no customs, and this time I paid R28.

Oh no.... Didnt know that.
I have the unethical habit of asking for 'reduced' shipping docs :nono:
Its just disgusting that vendors so readily comply with my request :)

Custom duties for part runs between 20% -30%.
That I always pay.
@andrewbuch, yeah I have also seen that they miss it sometimes.
Most of the times it's on small things.
