Hi all

So I'm new to the forum. Would like to get involved.

So I'm looking at possibly buying a F30 320d. With a budget of around 250-300k (Depending on what I can get for my VW polo). Also maybe the 228i. I've seen quite a few good example 228i's. I just really like the power/consumption ratio of the diesel.

I'm thinking that buying from a private seller would present more value - dealers have their mark up, but at the same time, less risk - for the most part.

I'm not in any kind of rush. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum, this is the place to learn.

That is a healthy budget so I don't think you will have trouble something in excellent condition. Petrol vs diesel is a very personal choice. Test drive both cars and see which you like best.
I agree private deals offer better value with higher risk, if the car is still on motorplan then that risk is mitigated.

Keep an eye out on the forum there are some great cars on sale here.

Can't you get a 220d? You get the 2 series shape and the diesel economy then?

Dunno what 2 series prices come in at though?

Agree with KidB, thats a healthy budget, you should not struggle to get a decent car for that price.

Hell you could even get an F10.

Thanks guys. Hopefully I can find something with good value, MP, etc. I would like xenon's and just not the really small rims that come with some models. Doesn't need to be a M sport

I thought the 220d was still rather pricey, being relatively new still. I wouldn't mind one, but I'm just not too sure about the rear end
