Hi All

I went to a station to fill up my tank, i still had exactly half a tank left. I asked the guys to fill it up with 95 unleaded about R250. He goes and fills 93 unleaded about R118 worth of it:banghead:, i stop him and then fills the remainder as 95 octane. So i have about 20% of my tank filled with 93 octane. Will this affect my car (E90 323i)?

Not at all, because effectively you now have a 94+ octane fuel in your car.

As long as it wasn't LRP

its not ideal but it shouldnt do any damage. it may give you slightly less mileage and power, not noticeably though..

ya tumo is right, might be a slight power difference but it shouldn't damage your car as long as it wasnt unleaded

lol 94+

You are fine buddy, just fill the tank again when you are half and then drive till empty and the effect should have worn off.

Shouldn't make any difference, I haven't noticed any difference between using 93 and 95, using 95 just makes me feel better.

Up here it really makes no difference unless you have a turbo'd car, your just wasting your money putting 95 in...

Asked for R100 diesel, next moment my wife screams:"STOP BLIKSEM!!"
Moer was putting 93 instead of diesel :cursin: :censored: :cursin: :hammerhead: :banghead:
Had to get bmw roadside assist to come and drain the tank. :cursin: :censored: :cursin: :banghead: :hammerhead:
I almost "Skiet die bliksem!" but the kids were in the car with me.

The engine management system adapts, that's what the knock sensors are for.

Even if you put 87 in, no damage will be done, but it won't go so well.

We once got a tank full of leaded when we asked for diesel for the old Jeep.. Luckily I spotted it before we drove off.. Left the car there over night, @ Garage expense got it towed to Jeep & tank flushed & filled with Diesel..
