Liquid dip

Respray is too much of a mission and lose value. Im sure due to the colour change it will be classed as rebuild.

Sell it and buy one with less km in the color of your choice - it is the cheapest and best option. A proper color change can not be done economically (since you practically need to take the whole car apart.)

I've wanted a 530d Motorsport in the Estoril Blue.......Alas.

My car is now doing 62000kms.

So far, I've stuffed around with it by retrofitting a complete M5 Interior (Off-White Leather/Black Alcantara), M5 Discs and Calipers, M5 Rims, M5 Sills........So it's pretty much beyond redemption. Selling it is not an option...I am not going to get back anywhere near my spend to date/besides I do not want to get into any sort of HP.

Try the guys at liquadwraps.co.za

There's a car in the office car park that was done and its a great temporary change for a lot less money

Apparently if you only respray the outside and not the interior panels (ie you don't strip the car), like a wrap, you don't have to re-register the vehicle...

:dunno:

If you are changing the colour of the vehicle as per the licence disc it will need to be reregistered.

Ie; Blue to Blue = no Change but Blue to Black = Change

Have done a colour change before:- White to Boston Green - All I had needed was a Vehicle Clearance and the car still remained Code 2 - Not sure of the process / red tape now

I would go with a wrap, there are many options in colour and a few choices in quality materials (I will not use cheap materials, ever) ... you do not need to re-register anything when wrapping a car, the beauty of a wrap is you can leave the car with me for a couple days, you get the exact colour you want for a better price as well as a better turn around time as opposed to a respray. When the time comes to sell/revert back, bring the car back for 2-3 days. The materials preserve the cars original paint from UV damage as well as obvious stone chips. Just do your homework before choosing a company to wrap the vehicle, the cheapest will not be the best for your car here. The quality of material and specs will determine whether your car's original paint will be safe under it for a specified time period or if even at all. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

There is no way that a color change will make it a code 3! If you want it another color then make it another color, but I would suggest go for a wrap as it's cheaper and easily to revert back again.

If you decide to do the warp be bold, be VERY BOLD
