Nice purchase. You don't need a new bonnet, just new grills. I did the upgrade from non msport pre lci front bumper to e82 135 bumper on day 1 on receiving the car and we didn't change the bonnet.

No gaps...

It much of an update but with changing the Sump which caused me to add spacers to the engine mount brackets now caused the shift rod to sit on the propshaft donut

I did a bit of searching around and it seems the 320d, 135i and 335i share a similar shift rod which prevents this from happening

My shift rod is on the top. It gets shortened for the V8 conversation and the 320d one is at the bottom

Took it to a fabricator that I have been using with great success so far to shorten it for me

Although the pic might not show it but the pin to pin length is the same. And it fits and works perfectly. I now have a finger space between the donut and the shift rod. Only issue now is that it is ticking the shifter assembly when in reverse. Will review it once the car is running again. Currently I am working on fitting the 540i radiator which is going to need custom aluminum tanks

Never ends

RADIATOR FINALLY DONE !!!

So this was it before. Now it’s nice and thick comes from an E34 540i. The E90 and E87 radiator are thin compared to this

So I took it to my fabricator and he modified it for me as this radiator does not fit the 87

Here is the final product

I went to Lextreme today to get some gaskets which have been a nightmare trying to find them and after looking at the VVTI motors I think I am gonna pass there are so many bloody sensors it’s ridiculous and so many things that can wrong so for now it’s gonna have to be non vvti

So back to the pics. This is how the radiator fits in the car fits perfect and it’s nice an thick and built in neck with cap is awesome

Thanks for the kind words and motivation guys much appreciated.

So I had to modify my cradle as the radiator was sitting at an angle and having a fan on the radiator would be impossible

So did some cutting /shaving but it’s not the neatest

Now all I need is to find the right pipes and a few other small goodies with some fluids and I can start it up
