Removed the gasket sealer off the block. Removing the subframe and nipping in the new sump.

This was the best angle I could get as space was limited

:eek:mgwaiting: wow you have a big job on your hands fixing other peoples shoddy work, one cannot pay enough these days for someone to have pride in their work.

 slowly coming right, you want it done properly - do it yourself.

Thanks buddy

Nothing beats oem in some cases.

So far oil leaks identified were the following:
*Sump build quality
*Gasket maker used on sump was not applied correctly and sump and block was not prepped for new gasket
*Missing bolts from sump
*Oil filter housing gasket
*Right side valve cover gasket
*valve covers not tightened
*Power steering pump missing copper washers
*Damaged power steering lines
*Joints in low pressure line of power steering

The front and rear main real still look good so holding thumbs lol

Ran into an issue where the dipstick tube doesn’t clear the engine mounting bracket. Fun times.

Due to the oil leak from the power steering all the front arm bushes have gone soft so I need to replace top and bottom arms

Next week doing some cleanup on some parts to remove the nasty oil paste

Hi guys another update. The plan this weekend was to cleanup the engine bay and clean the parts affected by the leaks. I also removed the arms as the leaks made the rubber go soft and weak
d7ba6783f7267ab007072e3b62ef09dd.jpg

This is what happened the bushes started falling apart. Since it’s all apart I am going to order m3 front lower arms as it should more negative camber. I am going to use non m torsion arms for the front so everything is nice and new. A bonus at least is that my steering rack has new rod and rack ends so I just need to get new arms for a nice and Parts install. I have chosen to go oem spec in front as with poly the feedback from the steering will rough.

Spent a lot some time cleaning the motor and chassis and still needs more as the oil leaks has made a nice thick cake all over the place.

Finally found 1uz non vvti 1st gen rods they were thicker than the ones in my motor and the later versions.

Saving for the future for boost but I would still need to get the pistons which is like 15k

The rods on the right is the same as what is in my car

Assembly time !!!

Hi peeps update time again.

On these motors they came with a plastic thermostat housing and as usual they become brittle and break. So my new fabricator has been helping me out with the small jobs created this for me.

They were so flippen dirty

Drilled out my steering rod ends as the place I took my car to fit my M3 rack didn’t tighten it and it was stuck in there. Unfortunately I never took a pic. Could of come off and I would have been in a terrible accident because of bad workmanship another reason why you need to check these guys
