How many Z4 M roadsters in SA

Does anybody know the count of E85 M roadsters in the country? They are quite rare with only about 900 RHD models ever built.

There cant be that many here?

Difficult to say.

The website below can give you some idea of production numbers for RHD cars in different colour combos. It says my Sapphire Black Roadster is 1 of 250 in the world.

If I include the extended Nappa leather option that my car has, it is 1 of 17 which I find hard to believe. I don't know how accurate their information is.

That is very interesting. It says my Titanium silver is one of 84 rhd in the world. Pretty cool.

Very few people got the extended leather so it makes that particular combo rare.

RHD is quite rare since i would say in the UK there is roughly the same amount of 3.2s floating around. Insurance made them non viable to sell there, and in Auzzie land the daisy syndrome and luxury tax put a end to them there. SA would have been a statistically significant market for the M models.

i recon we have 60 or so Roadsters in SA.

According to this I've got the only right hand drive, alpine white, extended leather spec'd z4m roadster on the planet lol. I wonder.

@Tonym I had the car inspected by my mechanic before going with the one I have now.

There were various items that had some problems
  1. Needs a service
  2. power steering pump needs replacing;
  3. Starter motor needs replacing;
  4. Rod bearings need replacing;
  5. Vanos needs seeing to;
  6. There was a tear in the soft top;
  7. Various cosmetic issues inside the cabin;
R220k is a good price, but expect to pay a significant amount more in service costs to get the car to a headache free, peace of mind car that you can drive.

Just FYI, I had the car inspected in November last year, so something could have changed.

I also hated my experience in dealing with Monte Carlo, which is mostly the reason I decided to run. They are not forthcoming, and customer service is poor. Would hate to know how they'd deal with post purchase customer care.

@op, that list above is *easily* north of R100k (if the top is really bad more like R150k+) worth of work. You're better off finding a better car for a bit more.
