How do you sell a M3?

I am considering selling by stunning M3 e92 with very low kms, but I know this is not that easy.

Placing an advert in social media sites and on gumtree, can result in a number of joyriders, chancers and scammers.

A colleague of mine, tried to sell his M3 where so many people came to look at his vehicle, stating they wanted it, only to have to re-advertise the vehicle weeks later since they didn't qualify for the finance. This went on for ages to the point he sold it for the first cash offer which was considerably lower than its value.

Would be great to sell it to a fellow fanatic. Just thought I would ask the question while I ponder the inevitable. I am however not in a rush to sell.

Put out a feeler ad on the forum in the for sale section. Gauge the interest and then decide what you want to do. Have enough information, pictures and the price you are looking for (realistically speaking).

you don't really sell an M3.. you keep it and buy other stuff around it..

but I suppose if you have to sell it.. personally I would advertise via fanatics but don't go Gumtree.. its a nightmare..

Advertise the car wherever you want to.

The key is to include as much information as possible in the advertisement because people want to know as much as possible about whatever (in this case your M3) is being sold.

If the ad is fairly detailed, then it answers most questions that tire kickers would have anyway. Include as many pics of the car as possible, that includes pics of whatever you highlighted in the text (service books, spare keys etc).

Have a recent copy of the vehicle's motorplan history so that it can be provided to anyone that you deem to be serious.

And if you don't want a million phonecalls, provide your email address only. Those that are serious will mail you and you then get to decide if you are interested in dealing with them.

Tire kickers and timewasters dont like anything that requires hard work or effort.

Thing is, M3s are a difficult sell. Dealers know too well about the bearing issue and offer well below trade. They the try and sell above retail for in case there's issues with the car and they get the CPA let loose on them.

I went through the process of buying one recently and I had a look at quite a few cars. There's buyers who know these cars that come across as tyre kickers. Then there are buyers that buy with their heart but do not qualify as you are still in the mid R400's for cars that are 4 years and older. Banks also give you a hard time when the car is older, making it harder for people to buy them.

Give us an idea of the age and mileage?

Ask anyone that wants a test drive to either provide proof of finance, or proof of funds...

That'll eliminate 99% of the chancers.

:=): post pics first and get some response - maybe you will get an offer on the forum.
