Guys, my friend sold his 320d touring and has signed up for a 2012 E90 320d step with 13k km on the clock. What is different from his 2006 (pre facelift ??) 2l diesel engine to the one he is getting now?
Did BMW change the suspension as well? Is the new generation runflats that much better than the first generation? The interior did not seem to have changed?

When you say 2012 im assuming it would be the F30 and not a E90 LCI ? I spent most of today driving a F30 328i ... and I must say the interior has changed a lot. Much better quality compared to the E90 and even the E46. Now it has more of the original "face the driver" type dash. The controls and other small bits and ends are more ergonomic.

In terms of the RFT tires, they havent changed much, I mean the tires are supplied and manufactured by bridgestone.

But your friend will notice a big difference in power and consumption in the 2 models. Also the suspension, the track, car length and width have all changed. I am surprised to see how much rear leg room there is compared to the E90.

No he means its an e90....

The 2012 (2011?) E90. 320d is a bit more powerful than the 2006 320d - engine upgrade with the lci. Probably 115kw v 130/5kw...

No real difference interior wise...

Yes, you are correct, made a typo. Should read 2011 E90 320d and not 2012. Yes, it is the 130kw motor. Is it the same output as the 2012 X3 320d, because if it is, it should be awesome as the X3 goes very well with that motor! Have driven it (the X3) and was surprised at the performance. In the lighter body of the 3 series sedan it should be a nice combination of power and economy.
