Prompted by this thread, I'm curious about knowing how we all got to owning our beloved machines/babies/rides/second wives...call it whatever.

So feel free to join the poll.

PS: This is not about dissing anyone.

Because every already called me a bitch now Im called a BMW bitch....Lol kidding, me and Henry went looking for a new car and I saw this bizzare color BMW and she said she wanted to come home with us! :inlove:

I suppose buying a BMW its another way of saying "it just felt right"

For me, It took driving a colleague's E34 525i sometime in 1994. That's when I knew there was a better handling car than a Merc (Was born into a Merc family).

This experience changed everything for me. I started reading about BMWs till I got my first E30 316i, then the 325i and the rest, the say, is history.

It's in your blood, once you have driven a BMW, you will not want to drive anything else.

This ^^^^^

I was never a fan of bmw's, infact hated it thanks to my dad (brainwashed) :mmm: but all of that changed the day I was forced to drive an e36 328i :woot:

Me I've grown up with BMW, dad's always had one, I've always loved them, I then worked for BMW for a year in sales, so soon as I was in the position to have my own one there was no other car I wanted to buy. I'm now on my 6th BMW, have tried one or two other brands in between, Merc, VW and Subaru, just to check them out, but my heart will always belong to BMW!!!!!!

When the E36 was launched in mid-92...it was a revolutionary look to everything else on the road.....it virtually stopped traffic when it drove by....I had to have one, even if it meant living on "Cup-A-Soup" and dry bread.....

my first of many. E36-325i...E32-730i...E39-530d..E28-520i...E38-740i

I always drove BMWs growing up. There are about 9 BMWs in my family  its pure driving pleasure. I owned a few cars(other brands) but nothing beats the feel of a BMW.

My Grandfather bought his first BMW in 1968, and after that he owned more than 15 BMW's with a '78 728 being his last one before he passed away.

My dad has had BMW's from before I was born and naturally, I wanted a BMW for my first car, but wanted an 02 like my grandfather's first.

And the rest is history.

A friend of mine had a E30 325i with a massive exhaust, but what really got me was how awesome it was to have leather seats, sun roof, electric everything, plus the speed, sound, and handling. It was just a complete package.

So my first car is my E30 318i and I still love it... even though it's been crashed into twice now, but will get it fixed.

I've always had my eye on the Z3 and Z4's. And the opportunity just presented itself and I took it.

Me I´ve always loved the agressive look of the BMW´s and when I played NFS Most wanted got addicted to the M3 GTR in the game. At that time I couldn´t afford one that´s why I bought a corolla but BMW was sure my dream car. So early this year I got a better job and there was the chance to own my first BMW, a beautiful E46 318i. This is still not it for me, I want a E46 M3, that´s my true dream. BTW E46 is for me the best looking BMW.

Always enjoyed driving, and after working for a while I realised that I could afford a nicer and faster car. Was a fan of the GTI's and Audi's, primarily because of the power.

During my search, a friend suggested getting a BMW for similar money. Took his E36 328i for a drive and was hooked. Another friend let me have a go in his 330ci, and that engine note with the top down just sold me. In the space of a month I went from not knowing the difference between E36 and E46, to a complete BMW convert :inlove:
