some very brave people here, I normally never ever let the display go below 100km range, you never ever know when you might have to rush of somewhere in an emergency, ie to a hospital, and then a detour and pits-stop for fuel (bad planning) is the last thing you want to do.

Agree fully, this is something my dad instilled in me as well. Try my best to fill up early, dont always get it right...:flyfun:

I regularly see the fuel light. With sedate driving you usually have >50km of fuel left at that piont.

although seeing the light after the engine has started to cut out... on turn 1 at Killarney was not welcome... I worked out that on the track I did about 1.5km/l

Hi guys, i m new to your forum, my problem is that there are still about 120kms left on the range meter, then the car would be empty, guage also showing empty, not sure if this is the guage in the tank giving problems. can it be reset?

One way to tell is to run it dry, with a can of fuel in the boot.

I totally agree with Romeo on this as well.
I try to keep the feul so that is always enough for an emergency, like rushing to buy milk, or going to buy bread, or visiting my mother that stays 3 blocks away, or just driving around the block for no reason...
point is, I love driving my car for no real reason at all, I just love driver her, so I won't forgive myself if I wan't to go driving "just because", and there is no feul left. :)

To get anywhere from my place I have to drive by 2 petrol stations... And they know my cars... I get F1 style service. They have even stopped asking if the oil and water is OK. I take that as a personal insult, ofcourse its OK:(.

Both e36 325i and 328i have shown ---- and did about 30 till filled .The 328i reserve light does not work - now I fill up after 500 km as a rule ( 55-58 litres ) so I still have a bit left .
I would rather push my BMW than ride your shittigolf !! ( Not too often though !! )

I dont try and push more than 30km after the reserve light has come on.

My OBC is a pathological liar, there is no way on Gods green earth that my E36 could could ever achieve close to the claimed range promised by the OBC.

Just be careful about saying you would rather push your BMW that ride a golf.
I used to own a Nissan and always said I would rather push my Nissan than drive an open...............then, one day, I pushed my Nissan...........FAR!!!!
