Hot air from the foot wells

Hi, first time adding a thread. We have a E39 525i Touring and there is hot air blowing out of the foot well vents, even with the AC on auto or manual mode. Has anyone had this experience before? Am I just not operating the air con properly or has something broken?

More then likely one of the motors in the HVAC unit went poof if its only coming out of the footwell.

With diagnostics, its easy to pick up which one.

I see this is your first post... how bout some pics there man

check in your engine bay if one of the big air pipes that goes between the pollen filters and firewall havn't come off .. you will get quite abit of hot air in the car from the engine if those air pipes are not sealing or are broken/disconnected

Thanks for all the advice, I found some web pages which refer to a Heater control valve that could be the cause. Will check it out over the weekend. Here some pic with the car in action from a holiday to Cape and all the way up the west coast to Spingbok and back home to Roodepoort.(Sorry for the delay had find out how the load pictures)
