No problem... it's worth to be brought up again and again

Latest gadgets went down from R75k to an unbelievable R5k now so you can expect more of these "high tech" car thefts to happen in the near future.

For that reason I will NOT post and links or stuff as I did in my previous post on this subject! :nonono:

It's too sensitive and it is definitively NOT tolerated

None of the models after 2011 can be stolen using this method according to the article.
Time for a new car , or a sales trick ? :blab:

Don't think BMW need to tricks to push sales.the irony is that we've been asked to use a low tech steering locks to avoid this high tech theft

In that case, The response should have been: "We found a counter measure against this kind of attack and current owners can bring their cars for an implementation thereof. This was addressed in all 2011 models and above". Cars beyond 2011 with a valid MP should be entitled to it.

I actually stumbled upon a vid on youtube how this is done, thought it was just a idiot trying to look smart, but seems like it's true, you would have thought that a company such as BMW would have thought of this before hand, and implemented at least a firewall of some sorts, or at least put a bloody keylock on the OBD port???

About the keylock? No, out of sight, out of mind? Thinking before hand? Also not joking, a car programming its own keys is a huge security loop hole, don't you agree?

I can understand that everything is hackable, but to make it this easy.

Or am I the only one that feels this way?

Luckily, this is what insurance is for
