I would revisit the temp thing, even if it's hot outside, the temp sensor could be faulty, loose or even missing? It usually beeps if the temp outside gets below a certain deg.. If the sensor is faulty it will most prob show -40, what's yours showing?
Well the temperature gauge seems to be working fine. Shows normal. And I don't think it's the same noise. It sounds different to the temperature drop warning sound. But I could be wrong.

Have you tried unplugging the battery for about 30 min? The equivalent of restarting a pc when giving you sht.
