This seems to be trickier than I thought???

Any Fundi's?

I would revisit the temp thing, even if it's hot outside, the temp sensor could be faulty, loose or even missing? It usually beeps if the temp outside gets below a certain deg.. If the sensor is faulty it will most prob show -40, what's yours showing?

Well the temperature gauge seems to be working fine. Shows normal. And I don't think it's the same noise. It sounds different to the temperature drop warning sound. But I could be wrong.

Have you tried unplugging the battery for about 30 min? The equivalent of restarting a pc when giving you sht.

Check your central lock fuses. For E46 saloon They are 3 fuses and for the touring they should be four. If you take out one Specific fuse then U have that noise. not all of them. Pls check those fuses and report back. Infact any1 can try it. Just pull out those fuses one by one and refit them. One of the three will give out a high pitch noise. .

So for your case please check whick of them is broken and replace. .
