High Mileage E60 M5

Just saw this M5 on Autotrader with 259 000km, so these cars are not as fragile as they are made out to be :fencelook:

It would be interesting to find out if there are any fanatics with very high mileage V10's?

It is just one example. I'm sure the engine and transmission can last if te car did mostly highway miles and had a sympathetic owner...

had bearings done once, probably twice...

Do you know that for a fact or just making assumptions?

Any car can last if it's looked after IMO.

That is 100% true, my one E30 318i is now on 270 000 km, engine has not been opened, still smooth as butter. Major things so far were the usual, wheel bearings, shocks, brakes, exhaust, ball joints, bushes, fan belts, cam belt, clutch plate.

Well I think that most people that do have premature bearing issues are usually the people that drive the car hard before the engine has actually had time to warm up. Most of the cases I have read on the international forums this is the case, or they track the car.
