High Mileage 320d's

5 sets of tyres is crazy for only 100 000kms. 5 sets of rears is understandable. But i dont see how you can go through front tyres so fast.

That's hectic! My dad used to get 60000km out of a set of tires on his 540 :fencelook:

My dad used to get 6000 to 10000 from a set in his e38 740i
I would get like 12000 from a set in my e30' previous owner got like 100000 from a set
I get about 20000 from a set in my e46
All comes down to driving style

For sure as well as where the car is driven I guess, my dad did a lot of long distance so I guess that contributes

Thread revival!

I've come accross an E92 320d for sale and I'm very tempted, it's a high mileage 320d with a full service history. Im unfamiliar with these engines however and I don't want buy something that's going to suck me dry with maintenance. Price is the equivalent of about 170k and mileage is 143,000kms. Worth it?? :fencelook: it's quite the looker too.

She pulls strong its how one drives a turbo diesel that determines its lifespan

I really dont know much about these engines :sorry:

I know both are fantastic engines! Depends how the car has been driven, but with it being a BMW I dont think turbo failure is such a big issue.

From what I've gathered they are more problematic... But you should be fine. 140 000kms is still relatively low.

Don't see many if any of the N47 2.0L diesel engines featuring here, all seem to be M47 or older.

I have an Oct 2007 E90 320d Auto (with the much dreaded N47 engine - some say a ticking time bomb). I have 145000kms on the clock. No engine issues to date.

I have a jan 2007 E90 320d manuel sportpack with 180000kms on clock, never put a foot wrong to date, brakes, service, the normal wear n tear
