So I went yesterday to fit my S3 cooler.

Nice and knowledgeable chaps and good workmanship.

I be DIY'ing my own intake next week and do some software!
I just need to get my hands on a K&N/BMC/Apexi Cone filter

And get myself a cat fooler. :=):

Ok so today I purchased my BMC 80mm cone filter from Autostyling in Randburg/Strijdom Park. (Paid R750-00) and yes...it has lifetime warranty and the legit filter. (Made in Italy)

So I got a custom made bracket from RevoFreak's Shop (Stweggies) when I was there (Saturday) to install my S3 intercooler. Thanks boet, you're a legend

Some people might think it is a "ricey" intake but for the price you can't beat it. And I'm sure you could get the Cone Filter cheaper.I didn't want to drive far so I just popped in...swiped the credit card...and popped out!? How cool is that?!? Credit card FTW!

I'm sure there is better/ more effective air intake systems like ITG/APR/EVOMS but I'm really not going to pay between R2k-R7k for a intake system. I'll rather spend that money on ice-cream LOL :fencelook:

Here is the goodies I purchased:

Took out the stock air intake system:

I struggled a bit to get my silicone hose on (and this was 75mm) so I heated it up and then pushed it over. (You can throw the piece of silicone hose into boiled water as well...then push it over)

Finish look, after I installed everything and made sure everything was snug and tight. As I don't want rattles of any sort:

I also installed the stock snorkel thing to direct the air into the cone filter, but I am not sure if I should keep it...

Rommies, the snorkel is a good thing, but you need to make some kind of heat shield around the snorkel and the air filter.

Oh, do a before s/w dyno and a after s/w dyno. You'll thank me later.:fencelook:

+1

Also allow the ECU to adapt to the new software. Drive with it for at least 1/2 tank and remember to Gooi Mielies!

Why is there a hairdryer in your garage :fencelook:

Did Petri sleep over again and forgot his goodies there?

Wrong! Zack was there.

Here is my dyno graph from KAR Performance on my GTi this afternoon.

153.3wkw @ 5661 rpm
298Nm @ 3139

Hopefully I'll get near the 180wkw with my software

That's hoping for a 20% gain. That will be enormous! You're making good power so far. Looking forward to the results.

I doubt it. You'll be lucky to get 165kw-170kw.

Finally boys and girls....MY VOLLA IS TUNED!? :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy::joy:

Arrived at Revo this morning

My Girl waiting for us boys to finish with our toys hehehe....(she doesn't look to happy...but don't worry....I took her out for brunch and treated her with Woolies Triple Chocolate desert  )

Some ROC's around the REVO shop.I saw some hectic RS3's standing outside too...think the grey one is Shaun's?? Damn that thing looks the business. No jokes.

Washed my baby and treated her with some stickers. I must say...each sticker gives about 5wkw when you go visit the REVO shop....hahaha well worth it

I'll be doing spirited driving for the first 300km. Apparently the car needs to adapt to the software! Everytime I turn the key on and off I'm pretty sure something happens? The car feels more and more responsive and A LOT smoother till 6k rpm!
Maybe it is placebo? hehehe
