So I once again DIY'd my brake upgrade:
Wheel off, Ready to take off the brake caliper and disc.
Tensioner spring, Two Size 7 allen key bolts (with their plastic caps) and your whole caliper comes off. Easy...
Brembo disc vs Powerbrake disc
Brembo 4 pot caliper vs OEM 1 pot caliper
Brembo disc fitted on driver side
Brembo disc, caliper, new brake pads and the given braided brake lines fitted (driver side)
Same procedure was followed on the other side (passenger side)
Everything went smoothly but I have one dilemma....My OEM Detroit wheels (18" 7.5J ET51) does not clear over the brembo calipers. I must invest in a new set of wheels with a more aggressive offset like ET45,43,41.
At this stage it seems like more of an offset problem, rather than diameter problem. So hopefully I don't need a 19" set. (I would like to keep 18" wheels though as I don't want to sacrifice the ride comfort).
I guess I could go the temporarily cheap route and use some wheel spacers rather than forking out 15k on a set of wheels.
All in all....this brembo kit is one quality piece of kit. I have already bled the brakes & I can't wait to get onto the brake pedal and feel the brake wors....I mean force.
video I found on youtube of Ed30 GTi brembo upgrade...looks sw33T!
