I have just joined
I am ex Durban then LOndon based for the past 12 years
I am in the process of moving back
and want to bring my 2 car allowance back with me
My only problem is
which 2
I own E61 M5 Tourer
E31 850Csi
E31 850Ci x 2
E31 840Ci -- 2 x 4.4's & 1 x 4.0
which of the above would be the most scarce of the lot
ths for your time
and hopefully advice

not e31 as I listed them

I think it is the E61 M5 Tourer then
I hardly ever use it
She's a beautiful FAST lady (only done 35k as a result)
but unfortunately she's an alcholic
7mpg in town
and her box dose not like the traffic
but on the open road
you forget all about that- push the M button and *******
Im rather interested in what one of the guys said about there being a lack of 840's
thats interesting
because my one 840 (with the steptronic 4-4 motor)
I have had a tuned exhaust with sports cats put on and had her chipped
and I swear that thing is quicker than my Csi
anyhow thanks again for all the advice
looking fwd to taking a run from CT to JHB thru the karoo with my foot down and a few bob in my pocket just in case

When I bought my 840ci 2 years back, there were only 2 registered, hence the "1 OF 2 - WP" plate, but since then there have been another 2 or 3 imported. At the time, there were 39 850's registered. As far as I'm concerned, the 840 is better car than the 850 but then again I'm also biased because I have one but also, everyone told me not to waste my money on the 850. I'd definitely bring the cleanest 840 back, but check it for rust underneath! Those UK salted roads slaughtered mine and costed me a FULL strip and replace.

yes you are right
the Later model 840's are definetely the best of all the 8's
they got the perfect combination of 4.4 motor and Steptronic box
I have all the models
and although the Csi is fun to drive but Like the M5 -- not a town car
the 840 is the best of them all
strange there arnt that many in SA
