The joys of finding the right car... those "immaculate" ones with scratches all over and a skeleton in the boot actually put me so off that I completely stopped looking for quite a few months. Hope you get one soon. On the up side, used car prices will only go down the longer you wait :=):

Hi everybody...
Am new in this forum and very much interested in buying BMW, as my second car purchase (after my first car Nissan Almera 1.6). I've been looking at BMW from a distance but now am convinced BMW has what I need.
apparently what I need in a car in order of preference is:
1. Safety (ABS, Traction control, Min 2 Air bags)
2. Bigger engine, (2L would do)
3. Cruise control (that means a Multi-function steering wheel)
4. Smarter electronics than I've been exposed to in my Almera
5. The rest is basic, should be in every car (E/W, A/C, etc)
Currently as a student (PhD) am looking at something around +/-R60k, and my options have been narrowed to the E46 320d year 2000+ (preferable Auto).
raise: Am I in the right direction?
raise: and what is this "Exclusive edition" I hear of?
