Hi.
My alternator caused the same problem last year. The regulator on it dies and causes some modules to throw codes or errors and warning lights to come on. Check your voltage when idle and revving the car. It should not go more then above indicated volts.

thanks... unfortunately both BMW and Supertek point to the Hydro Control unit/pump.. BMW wants R38k whereas Supertek quoted R 20k.. my warranty covers R6k, so I need to sell my left testicle quick :biglol:

though annoying, but its still driveable... luckily I got myself a polo vivo as a daily..

i had a similair problem, took it to bmw, they said calibration on steering sensor after they updated my electronic software on the car.. but mine was more DSC failure... see image below

mine goes beyond that... to think I only enjoyed this baby for a month before this.. now I have to drive it with caution until it is fixed! :YesNo:

Hi guys.. it so happens that the Polo vivo (my daily) was written off in a nasty accident and I was car less for 3 weeks or so.. Did not have car hire as I relied on the fact that I had 2cars..

Fast forward to today, I collected the x35 from Paolo @Supertek and R20k later the hydro problem is sorted.. warranty only paid R6k

Thanks Ratslaaf for the REF..
