technical Help needed please

Hi everyone

My E90 330d LCI has a rough idle and a squeaking sound coming from the turbo/exhaust manifold area. Please can someone help with diagnosis?

I may be misled as to where the sound is coming from as it sounds like a pulley but I can't be certain

Sound and rough idle could be caused by a leaking turbo gasket/s. Have you checked the bolt holding the exhaust clamp onto the turbo outlet? Could be that bolt came loose. What motor is in your car? If it is the B57 motor it could be that the plastic inlet manifold has developed a leak due to the egr sticking open. Check for holes in the inlet manifold. The holes leak hot inlet gas which causes the plastic sound deadening to start melting and thus smoking.
