Hey guys.

So I found that my speakers went dead in the car and then I opened the boot by the amp and found water...no idea how it got into there but the car was outside today during the rain...

Iv checked the tail light and it's fully secured not sure of any other possibilities...

Kindly advise

Thanks

Had the same issue on my E70 X5.

Water was coming in via the rubber piece on bootlid. Check these rubber pieces, and ensure that its clipped in properly.

Howsit... Thanks I checked that and I sealed those rubbers with gasket silicon and I cleaned out all 4 of the sunroof drains so let's hope nothing more but the amp is gone

You can check the drain plugs in the boot. They in the wheel wells. Can access in the opening where your tools are located.

Dude - last night was hectic rain...rained very hard everywhere and caused a lot of damage to properties. If you car was out in the rain, could also have been that your car has no leaks and just the hard rain cause some of the water to spill over the drains and ducts and enter the car. Check all the drains etc out but honestly if they all fine, don't stress too much about it.

So i had a similar problem with mine. Turns out it was leaking through the brake light on the top. Bmw replaced the rubber and sorted

So it seems as the problem is f20 pre lci I had a look at another at the shop and they both had these holes that have no use as the tail light has nothing that fits into it...so the water comes through 2 holes in the body that's by the tail lights il attach a picture to show...

I put masking tape first to close those holes and then used gasket silicon so it stays water proof hopefully I will test it tomorrow by putting a high pressure hose against it and see if water still seeps thru the tail light
