Thanks for the feedback, if it is the alternator cannot understand how BMW could tell me that the alternator is fine.
Glad your issues were solved on this forum. Noone knows your BM more that the guys here, I tell you the guys here will give you answers to any BM even starting with the E21.
A bit off topic now. You see these BM dealership guys are not really the best, both in price & workmanship. Trusting them with your car can be a risk. I trusted them to fix some VVT motor problem on my 2010 E90 & the problem was never fixed. They replaced the VVT motor then the following week I had an engine light coming on for the same VVT. Their diagnosis this time was some retainer spring somewhere near an eccentric shaft blah blah blah that was now loose. I just wondered if that retainer spring became loose in a week after replacing the VVT. Problem is that I was now supposed to pay R6000 extra to replace that retainer spring after paying R9600 for the VVT. I was a member of this forum but was not actively involved. So I read a few threads here & also on pelican parts website only to find out that those BM people are trying to capture my wallet. They didn't really do any diagnosis, I had that VVT motor that they took out tested (don't know how though) & it was fine. I think the problem was always that loose retainer spring. It is said that if loose, the VVT motor will be working too much so it will give a fault. My issue was that the spring was loose, not within a week of replacing the VVT motor. Then went back to BM with what I thought was a water tight case. They agreed to fix the problem of that spring & also changed the VVT motor for free. If I had known better however, I would have gone to a more knowledgeable guy like Tunetech. Some of those BM dealerships are just impostors, maybe save for Auto Alpina here in Boksburg.
