It really does seem suspect that the lock was tampered with while in the care of that workshop - definitely worth investigating further, but chances are, you probably will not want the car back after whatever abuse it has now suffered! Such a shame!!! :argh:

Very sorry to hear about this, Andy. It's happened to me too some years ago, also with a very clean E34. The car was never recovered, but a few month's later some place across the border was bust with a stash of luxury cars, and a report was shown on the TV news, and I could have sworn my car was one of them in the footage. So it may even be heading out of SA, nevermind a chop shop. Really wish you luck in finding her, and hope the bastards get what they deserve. :sorry:

I was just sitting and thinking that any housebreaking is made worse by the sense of despair felt by the owner when realising the invasion of their inner sanctum ,the sense of betrayal . How much much worse must this not be?

Our BMW's are more than cars to us since if they were were mere vehicles I am certain we could find cheaper and sometimes even more comfortable marques to suppourt , however if you are a bmw man the connection to your car is more instinctive and seminal than that perhaps even a spiritual experience .

Just thinking about losing one of mine sends shivers down the spine . As trite as these words may sound I am truly sorry you had to experience this and hope that whoever did this is paid back millionfold and that your car is recovered quickly :sorry:

Did your insurance not stipulate you need some tracking unit installed of some kind? My insurance insist on a tracking unit, if you don't have one and the car is stolen they deduct 15% off your payout.

I just don't understand the logic behind nicking the car. I mean looks wise it's really unique, only Andy and I have those BBS rep wheels on an E34. I have taken mine off so that makes Andys car even more unique.

The front bumper is custom, the rear bumper is custom and what pisses me off the most is I gave Jandre half the leather interior of that car as well as numerous bits and pieces from my prized E34 parts collection.

WTF do you do with a car that unique once you swiped it?

I really hope they find it Andy no matter what state it's in now just so you can get your dues and see the fsckers prosecuted.

Ag nee - this is sad. I fear this for my Toyota 2.7 DC and e46 too. Looks like the bonnet of the Toyo was already fiddled with.
