Hey guys. I'm not yet a BMW owner but I'll be getting one as my first ever car pretty soon and since I've been stalking this forum for many weeks now, I figured I'd need to join soon anyway so why not now.

I've been researching cars to buy for months and have conlcuded a 6 cylinder BMW e90 would be a good place to start (I've gone back and forth on this many times and each time I consider an alternative, a more economical or newer or more 'sensible' option, I come up with reasons why the beamer route is the only way for me and thus no man alive can convince me to reconsider at this point).

I'll be here for some years I'm sure, as I plan on keeping the car (once I have it) for as long as possible, but until I get it I'll be out here scouring this here forum for as much info as I can manage to digest. I'll be counting on you guys for your help and insight and look forward to interacting with all of you.

323i or 325i, I'd go 330i but insurance would be a bit too steep. Oh and it'd have to be LCI as I prefer that backside.

The LCI does look better especially if its has the M Sport pack. I'd definitely go for the 325 instead of the 323. All the best

Thanks everyone, I've seen a lot of forum members here and elsewhere recommend the 325i over the 323i and comsuption and insurance don't seem to differ all that much so I'll be hoping for one. I won't buy one for a while since I'm still doing some more research. Will post when I need some assistance. :ty:

Take your time, you are in no rush and make sure when you see one that you like to do a lot of research before breaking the bank. There are guys here that can help you with VIN numbers and all things car related.

Thanks, I can be quite impatient so it'll help to make 'take your time' my new mantra. I suppose it's better waiting a bit longer for a solid car than just getting whatever is available at time T. Plus the longer I wait the more I'll have in my 'in case stuff happens' fund. To think I started my search with a very basic understanding of an engine, now I know (virtually) how to replace a water pump, thermostat, etc. I've readied myself mentally for most of the common mechanical issues that might crop up and will adjust my budget accordingly come purchase time so I can get ahead of anything that might go wrong.
