HARTGE Plug and Play System

HI Guys

Just got off the phone with Mr Rob Green of RGM wrt the new system they are offering for BMW, i.e. HARTGE Plug n Play.

Heres some of the stuff they he just emailed me as well.

What are your views and opinions on this R19 500.00 PnP System. I'm not installing it due to its ridiculous price. Just doing some market research.

RGMotorsport - HARTGE Plug And Play Engine Harness!
More Boost With Factory Driveability!

This Power Pack is a direct plug in to the existing engine harness for a factory appearance and fitment and results in instant power. It installs in under two hours and is completely reversible which makes this the easiest and most cost-effective power upgrade you will ever make on your BMW.
The Hartge 'Engine Conversion' is a bespoke tuning module that plugs in ahead of the engine computer on the wiring harness. It has factory-style plugs to connect in-line with the water temp sensor, fuel rail pressure, turbo boost pressure sensors, turbo wastegate valve, intake camshaft sensor, 12V power and ground. The module then sends a modified signal to the engine computer allowing it to increase boost by varying amounts depending on load, engine speed, and other factors.
All of the factory safeguards remain in place, including overload protection, warm-up protocols, and the engine tuning is unchanged below 1500 rpm to preserve all factory driveability. One of the key advantages of this type of 'piggyback' system is that it is unaffected by factory BMW updates and service. If BMW updates the computer software to fix any small bugs or issues, the Hartge performance upgrade is not lost or overwritten. This is key on new models because BMW is constantly releasing small software updates. All of the factory diagnostics and service access is retained.
Professional installation required.

Please note that RGM -Hartge chip tuning option IS TOTALLY REVERSIBLE FOR WARRANTY PURPOSES

As well as Renzsport/Xcede who offer JB/Cobb units. If I'm not mistaken I think that Project Shift olso offer the JB units.

But Jandre is correct, better speak to forum sponsors first as they are availabe to help with queries etc.

For X35 I will highly recommend using Xcede or Rennzport.

One is a custom tune , the other a JB Unit (plug n play)

You not gonna get any better than this.

Firstly, its not motorplan approved with BMW if not mistaken :flyfun:

And for that price, I'd go tuning route with forum sponsors rather.

For that price there are a lot better tunes out there. Go look at topgearsolutions but buying local is always nicer because they offer the support you need. Give all the local guys a call and listen to them.

R20k for a tune..... :nonono:

You could probably get an intercooler, downpipe, exhaust and tune for the same money from the forum sponsors

I dont really see why you would pay 20k for something that you can get done for way less...

the promotec piggy back does more for less money on the N55
287kw 525Nm R12,299

then there is also JB4 and Cobb

all these options are way less money for more or less the same thing... one big advantage of the promotec piggy back is you can change the harness and tune for your new car when you change cars and you dont have to buy the whole unit again...
