H&R springs

So on Saturday I finally got a chance to fit those H&R springs I ordered from Sean last year for my mk2 Jetta along with Gabriel shortened shocks. I am overwhelmed, the ride is softer than standard springs and the handling is amazing, compared to another mk2 Jetta with cheap coilovers, my car is worlds ahead in both segments.

Thanks a lot Sean  now I know why you keep harping about buying tried and tested brands....

thanks for the update dont you wish you fitted then sooner now :)

Dude you have no idea, for years some of my buddies told me to go with budget coilovers, others told me to get decent springs and shocks, glad I went with the latter :)

Never posted this on the forum, but the HnR springs i purchased for my toyota camry..., yes, you read right, camry are also awesome.

The camry is a big vehicle and while i felt it held its own on standard suspension with the 225/45/17 yokis i have on..., the HnR have really transformed the car.

The car was never designed to be sporty(not in SA at least- with almost no upgrades available) but the way it handles now, I just cant get enough of it. I have subsequently worn out my front tyres with of the hard cornering and braking but it is just worth it. I still find it comfortable, just a little stiffer and those who know camrys know that the ride is very soft. It understeers considerably less and is more predictable.

I feeling when you are able to out corner more expensive cars( although in a straight line my 2.0L, with 340000km on it has no chance)..., priceless.

I cant get myself to sell it..., the E60 is fun it its own right, the VW is like a dying horse that needs to be beaten, but the Camry just is...., different. The higher fuel consumption is balanced by the low running costs...lol.

I am planning on doing the H&R (front springs) with Koni dampers(all round) "upgrade/refresh" this weekend. It is going to be a long weekend. :skit:

I can't wait

Hi Moranor,

Does H&R do coilovers?

Whats the suggestion for a E92 N54, with sport pack? on Stock 18's?
The Rears currently have no gaps, front sits quite high, but the car touches everywhere, I want to close the gap on the front without losing the handling quality, Can I have a Stance and quality handling?

Also considering a Rim upgrade to a 19 or 20 deep dish, Most likely maintain the 8.5j front and 9.5j rear config.

P.S I dont track the car, only highway fun where I can.

any suggestions?

it depends on what stance you want... slamming a car to the floor will never be great for ride and handling but you can have a functional lowered car that handles great and looks good :)

pop me a PM we can discuss further and work out what will be ideal for you
