Does anyone know what this connector is for? Sits below the DISA unit on my E46 320i

:biglol: had to move and hold some of the other pipes to get a pic of that connector....awkward space to work in :argh:

Yep, can't figure it out :argh:


Here's a pic of the other end of the cable attached to the connector in question. The pic needs to be rotated 90 degrees to the right. The little black thing is the part of this cable and sits just behind the vanos intake solenoid......I am suspecting it may be the cam or crank sensor?

Managed to figure out what that part is......it's the intake cam sensor :thumbs:
 
Yip 100% Prevan correct it is a Siemens sensor, you can simply disconnect the connector to do what ever you require and then reinstall. If you are removing the alternator then to make them as they are similar.

Got a bit of play on the electrical connector side of the intake cam sensor. Did a temp fix due to time constraints but will need to fix it properly to avoid in transit moves that can cause loose connections
