I wrote this on page 3 of the thread "to be, or not to be"

:pimp:
Thanks allot for your concern Mike, :thumb:

...and no hard feelings ok, we understand where you coming from, even if you attacked me personally a bit, I can take it like a man.

after that the attacks kept coming... :dunno:

So on page 5 I made this post:

:pimp:
Once again you attack me personally!!!
Show me where I said I participated in any races!! You say I am a Metro Cop driving with a bunch of cars at illigal speeds... WHERE??????
Show me on the MANY posted video's where my car is busy racing!!! ... O wait!!! In the next line you state my speed is irrelevant, so what are you on about then????
How am I in control of guys that do the run, that I cant even see, because they are either too far infront of me, or too far behind me??? ALL the guys know, and I say it on ALL the runs, EVEN the sloooowww breakfast runs, that if they get caught, FOR WHATEVER REASON, they did so because they broke the law, not me, and I cant be EVERYWHERE at once, so how can you keep on saying I approve of the law-breaking???
LOS MY NOU FOKKEN UIT OK!!!!!!!!

...but yet, the attacks continued... :nonono:

So I FINALLY made this post:

:pimp:
Well, WHATEVER gets planned in future, if its a breakfast run, a midnight run, or a drive to the airbase or racetrack after meeting up before the time, I WILL NOT BE PART OF IT!!! Because I will be seen as a hypocrate and a two-faced, law breaking cop, that enforces the law when it suits me....

I will also not be there, because I am pretty sure, that someone might "leak" out ALL the details of such a meet, just to prove a point when the guys start posting about how the cops showed up, or how the cops where waiting for them, so BE CAREFUL WHATEVER YOU PLAN!!!

So, sorry my fellow fanatics, the ONLY time you will see me now is when I show up at Kyalami or Zwartkops to braai my vleis in peace!!!! or when someone invites me for a visit at their house, or come to visit me at mine...

THE END!!!!!!

Now as you can see by my first quote, in the "to be, or not to be" thread, I already said I understand his concerns, and no hard feelings, so I wasn't the one with the problematic attitude, but hey, lets leave it there, and Ok, I accept the appology Mike. :thumb:

To the GP fanatics... I STILL stand by what I said in my post, the last quote I mentioned here, "...sorry my fellow fanatics, the ONLY time you will see me now is when I show up at Kyalami or Zwartkops to braai my vleis in peace!!!! or when someone invites me for a visit at their house, or come to visit me at mine..."

Coisman, you are a legend on this forum, and as far as I am concerned an asset. Your advice and experiences threads and extremely helpful and interesting, and valuable to all of us. For me your forum reputation is no different than it was before this all took place - lots of harsh things were said and it was painful to read.

Yes, some valid points were made and genuine concerns, but then things were dragged and spurred on page after page only making matters worse. All that I can ask is that we "learn" from this going forward and continue with the intended spirit of enjoying our cars and friendships formed!

Both Colin and Coisman organised this event with the best intentions and trusted that everyone would drive safely and responsibly while having fun. We all enjoy driving our cars and what's the point of living if we can't have fun?! How would Colin and Coisman be expected to "police" 90 odd individual drivers in any case, it's a trust issue, so in that respect one could say that their trust was betrayed.

Mike's concerns are valid and although it was the main cause of all of this, it was something I reckon was needed to be discussed before something tragic happens. And it is big of him to start a thread to apologise and attempt to rebuild some broken bridges. We are not perfect, and everyday "school is still open", so I hope that this can finally come to an end - done and dusted.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for those kind words Philip...

Like I said in my post above, I accept the appology Mike, and no hard feelings, but again, like I said above, ANY form of driving with the guys will be skipped by me from now on.

If a breakfast run is held, I will join and meet the guys at the Wimpy or Spur, or wherever it is they will be driving too. On any other type of meets, I will meet the guys, park my car, chat, and go home, but join any form of driving from, or driving to thing.... no way... not ever again... :nonono:

I will do midnight runs on my own, with my wife and kids with me, like the last run, but alone, minding my own business. Breakfast runs, again, with mommy and the kids, no fanatics close, because maybe they would want to enjoy their cars a bit and then I would have to compromise myself again.

I really hope the guys will understand this, and respect this, because I really dont want mud slinging to start again, I was really upset by the statements made, and from now on better I remove myself from ANY kind of event or gathering that might have anything remotely illigal happening, or about to happen...

So to the GP guys, enjoy your runs, and drives, and meets, see you at the track days, or when we braai at someone's house. :thumb:

Whats the need for facepalms???

the guy is apologizing for getting out of line, he does stand by his points that were made, many of them were very valid, and the one that werent, he apologized for so i dont see the reason for the facepalms.

things blew over, and its taking a turn for the good?:nonono:

The reason for that was that IMO the matter was settled. Done and dusted. Water under the bridge. I understand Mike wanted to apologise but the the 2B thread was locked before he could do so.
So if I offended anyone with a face Palm expression, I apologise.
:sorry:
I did apologise with PM to certain members also.

It is Mike you should give your thank you's to in this thread as he wanted to heal matters.

Nuff said.

Maybe in future, any comments on any organised events, should be directed to moderators or organisers in an email or pm.

This will take away the opportunity for things to blow out of proportion.

Mods can then just post the concerns (nameless) of the members and we all can work together to be a safe and legal community.

Mike did touch some very valid points. And I think most of us didn't want to hear it, which is where things started brewing.

The guy appologised. And that took a lot. He could have stayed an ass, but chose not too.

Coisman, kom nou. BMF is niks sonder die hoof chef nie. We all understand your concerns, and your hurt feelings. We also understand the position that you are in, being a JMPD officer.

But, at the end of the day, we are family here, and we need too look out for each other. And so will we look out for you, as you would for us.

Everyone will understand if you dont feel like joining any event, but at least give it another chance.

I personally feel that any event organised by BMF should adhere to all laws, rules and regulations. At the end of the day we don't want our forum's name being associated with any sort of illegal activities.

Lets save the racing for racing events and try to keep ourselves in check at non racing events.

And before anyone comments, I have not been on any Midnight Runs. Timewise I won't be able to ever make one, as I don't stay in Gauteng. But that doesn't mean that I don't share everyone's enthusiasm and passion for anything BMW.

Mods and organisers should get together and set strict rules that need to be enforced at events. We can't have the minority sinking the ship.

And I'm not attacking the guys that did do some spirited driving, I love doing it too

Hi guys The reason I face palmed too was this is or was a big issue and threads that start off from a bad thread dont end well cause there is a reason it got lock it in the first place.. sometimes it better to say nothing at all and let things be or sort it out privately with the people involved first before starting a thread.... but i'm glad things turned out the way they did and happy that we all can sort this out...

Lastly I apologize for offending anyone....

Like i said earlie,r i dont think any offense was taken, more like a WTF? lol

thats the problem with interwebz, sometimes, things can be mis-understood and then blow out of proportion before being able to control it?

but like you said, its sorted now, all good!:thumbs::thumbs:

So I dont pay attention to the forum for a day or two, and there is a severe meowfest....

You folks know what works nicely, go to a toy store, buy a barney, biggest you can find, and ram his head into the wall, and bash the crap out of him.

I do this regulalry, with my little girl, and she knows that "Barney is a freakazor, and deserves to be bashed"

So all settled and dusted :)

Hi guys

This thread is not about who is right or who is wrong and I am glad it has remained civil.

It is the way in which we do things, how we compose ourselves and get our message across which can turn something constructive into something destructive.

I am mortified that what was a genuine concern I had for our fanatics turned into such a mess. :nonono:

I think everything is sorted now and I hope that this is learning point for others as it is for me.

Have a great weekend guys and keep it BMW!
