Thanks to Bruce I got my stickers today, so now Fanatics will be represented in the Lowveld as well :)

Also had a good laugh at the first meeting point, when two M3's pulled in, a VW Golf's car alarm went off, after a minute or so after that the car left rather quickly :roflol:

Hahah that would be my brother and I :roflol:
Lol was completely by mistake but I don't know what that
VW was doing there :crazylaugh: lol

What an EPIC TURNOUT. Amazing convoy. Gosh I'll remember this even forever

I just have an observation question.

Why were there so many Beemer for sale today?
If I'm correct I saw a total of 3 or 4 fanatic BMWs for sale.

Sent from stolen tiekiebox

Just a comment on the convoy
I found that people didn't stick to normal convoy driving habits.
Slow around the bends and then flooring it on the straights of the highways...end result saw a lot of stop go, stop go.
All cars partaking in the convoy should stick to the slow lane and drive about 20km/h slower than the speed limit of the road they are on.

Other cars would cut between us because of the flooring and leaving gaps in the convoy...

I missed the driver briefing as I got there just as that finished unfortunately, but im pretty sure something along those lines would of been discussed.

Otherwise, pretty great to be part of it.
Thanks

Showboating is the worst thing people can do in a convoy situation. The 20km/h under speed limit to maintain correct following distances is the safest way of running a convoy.

Yea the gaps were a little large, Myself and Thunder had to duck into the left lane because the convoy came to a complete stop.

Guys, i drove pass the convoy to get to The Glen before and TBH, you guys managed well.

The lead car, drove at 110km/h. The issue where the highway came to a slow down was when we merged from the N1 to the N12, its 4 lanes, down to 2 on a bend, the right lane had an Opel Corsa driving 40km/h, this is why the backlog built up. Also, I am sure we cannot expect 80 cars, plus other normal traffic to merge without feeling the pinch.

Other drivers were driving like real chops, i saw a few cars cut between our convoy from the far right to take an offramp. Chops!

But, thank you to the convoy participants, i have no complaints only compliments for you.

Convoy was amazing... I agree, gaps were to big .... and worst of all.... don't these non BMW drivers know they need to stay out of the BMW lane or at least move out of the way if there is a beemer behind you... lol

My personal opinion, but the venue should have made arrangements for a lane or separate entrance for the event.... to much chaos getting in and even the effect of the convoys grand entrance was killed

wasnt just you about 5 cars in a row had to do that. just seen bm's scatter
fact remains people were not paying attention to what was going on in front of them hence gaps and then stand stills.

awesome convoy pointless complaining about what could have been happened etc etc. it was successful with no incidents that's what counts.

BIG PROPS TO Arbee for the organizing of the huge convoy mad respect bro. :clapper::clapper::praise::praise:

and to everybody that attended, I don't think JHB has seen sunch a big convoy in a long time.

freaking hot day but some rare cars being pulled out for the show I was impressed.

Speed, following distance and safety was all mentioned and re-iterated by myself. The Lead, marshal and last car was all shown to the people attending. We did our best and as much as we can do.

I really dont know why, when regrouping, people got out their cars on the Highway... In a case like this, you sit in your car and wait till the lead car leaves again.

Again, i think we did our very best. Sorry if we did not meet your expectation.
