You don't even need a cult to save up car-level money. This isn't QikNish buying something really insane like an Aventador... though even if it was the case it is off-side to make comments like that!
You don't even have to be rich or a business person. You just don't have to constantly be keeping up with other people. There are many salaried middle class people driving sensible things for 5 or 10 years and then suddenly getting their dream Porsche or M or AMG or even Ferraris etc... don't be the asshole that judges them for that while having thrown many more times that money down the toilet on financed cars.
I work with a lot of people... they are funny creatures. People won't have the self control to save up for some luxury or passion they have... but will gladly spend 50% more to finance it "Because it is only 10K a month" or (and I love this) "If I have the money in an account/bond/wherever, then I will be tempted to spend it".
Since we are making assumptions: the same people are out in droves for Residual discussions telling everyone they are 'smart', what rich people do and they know all about asset depreciation, the 'right time to trade'...wanting to mod but terrified of losing their plan (and not able or willing to spend on OEM/approved upgrades). Some even end up prepping to trade their cars cos they have R100K to load onto a finance deal but are living so far outside their means that they don't have R20K for tyres... These are not assumptions sucked out of thin air... they are discussions from this forum over the years... though I think Paul knows this. If he really believed anyone here was a drug lord, he would think twice about saying it.
Why is it cool for us to encourage people to throw their lives down the toilet (everyone here is clapping away when the forum Emojis work as someone buys a 900K 320d)... but when someone does something 'responsible' but somewhat extravagant its seen negatively? Apart from Paul's view on anyone who is better off than him being a criminal, there are the office masses who say "Oh I would never spend R600K cash on a depreciating asset..." Cool story dude... so get your own money and show me how its done! Oh sorry, you were busy spending 400K on a car that you had to give back to BMW after 3 years? And still had to load R100K on your next one? Shame... must be nice in your glass houses. Everyone is an expert at spending your money... but not their own.
I guess, also, nobody cares that you haven't bought a car for 5+ years... nah, buying a car cash makes you a drug lord/cultist/etc like
@QikNish LMFAO. Tell yourself another lie to make you sleep at night... but don't make slanderous comments and single out people.
