Tops. Cash is king. If you go in and buy in a few cars or just have no trade and cash you can really twist the arm of sales people this time of year.

Unfortunately not everyone is in the drug/'import export'/shady business, most of us (90%) will have to finance.

Buy something you can afford then...

Might be a KZN thing, but I actually have less luck with cash here... Most of the dealerships try to push finance sales for some reason.

Don't be such a doos, your comments are uncalled for and unnecessary. If you have nothing of value to say, rather not say anything at all.... Like ever again

Hey Paul Prick,

Unfortunately there isn't much money to be made in the above. The best option is to start a cult or religion

Why is society that way? See a guy doing well and automatically assume he is doing something dodge to earn his bucks? 20 years ago I started working for auctioneers with R50 in my pocket and big big dreams. Now I own an auction company alongside those guys that hired me.... 20 years to get where I am. No fucking degree. I think I earned my position now.

So fuck you Paul P#ss... I'm proud of my money, let your ass burn at others success, we need pricks like you to make us work harder.

You don't even need a cult to save up car-level money. This isn't QikNish buying something really insane like an Aventador... though even if it was the case it is off-side to make comments like that!

You don't even have to be rich or a business person. You just don't have to constantly be keeping up with other people. There are many salaried middle class people driving sensible things for 5 or 10 years and then suddenly getting their dream Porsche or M or AMG or even Ferraris etc... don't be the asshole that judges them for that while having thrown many more times that money down the toilet on financed cars.

I work with a lot of people... they are funny creatures. People won't have the self control to save up for some luxury or passion they have... but will gladly spend 50% more to finance it "Because it is only 10K a month" or (and I love this) "If I have the money in an account/bond/wherever, then I will be tempted to spend it".

Since we are making assumptions: the same people are out in droves for Residual discussions telling everyone they are 'smart', what rich people do and they know all about asset depreciation, the 'right time to trade'...wanting to mod but terrified of losing their plan (and not able or willing to spend on OEM/approved upgrades). Some even end up prepping to trade their cars cos they have R100K to load onto a finance deal but are living so far outside their means that they don't have R20K for tyres... These are not assumptions sucked out of thin air... they are discussions from this forum over the years... though I think Paul knows this. If he really believed anyone here was a drug lord, he would think twice about saying it.

Why is it cool for us to encourage people to throw their lives down the toilet (everyone here is clapping away when the forum Emojis work as someone buys a 900K 320d)... but when someone does something 'responsible' but somewhat extravagant its seen negatively? Apart from Paul's view on anyone who is better off than him being a criminal, there are the office masses who say "Oh I would never spend R600K cash on a depreciating asset..." Cool story dude... so get your own money and show me how its done! Oh sorry, you were busy spending 400K on a car that you had to give back to BMW after 3 years? And still had to load R100K on your next one? Shame... must be nice in your glass houses. Everyone is an expert at spending your money... but not their own.

I guess, also, nobody cares that you haven't bought a car for 5+ years... nah, buying a car cash makes you a drug lord/cultist/etc like @QikNish LMFAO. Tell yourself another lie to make you sleep at night... but don't make slanderous comments and single out people.

Agree with the sentiments above. Many people are working damn hard and doing honest, hustling to make their dreams a reality, and nothing comes overnight. As you seen, took The OP 20 years to learn, implement and then realise his dreams. Assumption is the mother of all F***ups, so sont assume something and then blurt it out unless you having evidence to back it up.

Congrats on the new cab bro...post more pics there and male us drool whilst other arses will burn.

Once again congrats in the new car Nish. Pay no attention to dipsh#t comments.

I speak for myself here. Worked hard to get to where i am. I daily a 11 year old opel corsa ldv but I would love to drive a new double cab. But it just doesnt make ecomnic sense to drive for me personally. My corsa serves me well and is still doing. No major maintanance cost beside services and tyres and beside that i currently own two of my dream cars (still waiting for the XR8, time is not right)

My best friend is the owner of a huge transport/logistics company and we both on the same wave length. He has a mint 130i Msport 2 door. He has the car for 12 years with no hassles at all. Does he want to sell? Not a chance! The car serves him well and still does whereas his GM drives a mint M2 thats modded to the teeth and hes paying through his a#$ for it.

But here we have a friend of mine who i saw on Friday driving a brand new Renault climber. His opening line to me, bru hows my new cab, now this guy sold his Nissan LDV in December cos it was paid up and he need the cash. I asked why did you buy this, wait for it, because i have to keep up appearances. I just said you a f@#ken asshole and left it that.

Life is such that you always get assh#les who presume the worse if you buy a house, car etc. They forget that you do get people that work hard and do things honestly.

These people are first to judge and by no way have the means to live life comfortably and are swarming in debt to just keep up.

All the best.

@Dbn540i people like that are why our car market is the way it is. Heaven forbid you think something is overpriced... or a brand is going south (as bmw is slowly doing with big hits but some very big misses- just look at what a joke M has become to the degree that we now need competition variants as the "default"... we dont want people to think we are not well endowed in the wallet department or not a true fanatic etc... no longer part of the groupthink our brains have been conditioned to need. There are enough people with virtual money and this mindset available that voting with your wallet can't work in controlling prices.

Anyway haters will hate... It literally does not compute for some people when you get something and you keep your other cars. Too many years of listening to salesmen telling them how rich people do things and marketing spin selling ever less for ever more. Was the same when I had the STI/S2000/m5 simultaneously when I wasn't happy with trade values and now with M5/4C/Merc/Beetle... when they run out of one reason to criticize you will hear about insurance and licensing costs or space or the cost relative to a house or "investment property" (another staple of the haters). More to seed the secondhand market with used cars I guess so can't complain too much LOL.

@QikNish just more of a reminder why you are where you are and others are trapped in a mindset that keeps them where they are...

Now send more pics LOL

First off.

Congrats on that beast. She looks BEAUTIFUL.

There is nothing like not having to pay a car installment at the end of the month.
It has only been the last 8 months that I have been able to be free from finance. I think back now about the amount of money I have wasted keeping up with the latest and greatest.
It is utter stupidity.
I hit a hard time where I had to get rid of some debt and am so glad for it.
So big up to you QikNish. You can afford it so enjoy it.

Congrats, enjoy that beast properly! There'll always be those that throw stones at the tree that bears fruit. This should've been a thread about pics, humiliation of 63's, pics, and how it feels to change seats between an R8 and a monster M. I look forward to seeing that soon...

What a thread :blab:

What I learn from this is that I should not get into the drug/shady business game (cos apparently I will be easily identifiable with my flashy car) but rather into the auction game with R50. I may splurge, double my beginners chances and start with R100...

@QikNish perhaps you should start a new rides thread without the derailment, love the colour combo of the X6M... Congrats again man.

As far as the whole finance vs cash debate goes, I've made it quite clear that I am very much against financing a car... But I also have no problem with people who do, your money at the end of the day. As long as you don't try to justify it by making yourself seem like a wolf of wall street and in the process attempt to belittle cash buyers...

End of the day, being happy for each other takes nothing away from you. We're all trying to build in our own way.

Let's all try to adopt this positive attitude at least on this forum.
