Got a BMW again...

After a hiatus of 13 years, at last I've got a BMW again.
Previously I had a 1983 733i, and a 1996 740i which I got rid of in 2003.

I've just acquired a 2010 Z4 3.0 s-drive with only 8000 kms on the clock, and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a nice car.

My other cars are:
2003 Subaru Forester 2.5 turbo
2013 Toyota 86 S/C (my track car)
2016 Subaru XV (my wife's runaround)

Wazup bro, welcome.

"It's a nice car" :roflol:

Where you at Redstar petrol heads for pets? I recall seeing a similar 86 to yours there or it might even be yours?

Yep, I was there.
My mate was the organiser, and I was running "track taxi" for the folks who wanted a few hot laps on track for a suitable donation to the charity.

Hey, why you laughing at me saying "it's a nice car"? I'm enjoying it.
It hasn't got as much grunt as my 86, and about the same as my Forester, but it's so much more civilised. :=):

Yes, that's right - 8000kms, car was new in Jan 2010.
That's like an average of 100kms/month since new!!

Saw a pic of your car at the Z dated 28 Feb on FB.
That was the combined Supertrax and Michelin Cup day - were you there?
I was racing Michelin Cup - quite awkward with all the traffic.

Have you seen there's a sponsored track day at red star on the 24th?
If you get in quickly, they're accepting some non Michelin Cup entries.
It's non-competitive, might be timed, and it's for free.
If you're interested, I'll PM you the registration linky.

Those supercharged 86's move!!.

I have been tracking the BMW, great fun. Just had run last weekend at the z so my "racing" has to wait until the "racing account" has been topped up again. But thanks for the invite.

Next time I head out I will send you a pm, :coolshake:

Very nice, welcome...

I love the folding hard top on the new gen Z4's

I raced my wife's silver E85 Z4 at Red Star the same day... huge fun with the top down, you should try it.

I did that, at Red Star in November.
The Z4 handles very nicely - it's well balanced and predictable.
Not very quick though, but it is a lot of fun with the top down. :=):

Here's some pics and a video clip if anyone's interested.

Well, my Z4 will be getting another racetrack outing on Saturday. :)

My racecar (Toyota 86) has a misfire which nobody seems able to solve.

The organisers of the Michelin Cup time attack event at Red Star on Saturday have kindly allowed me to compete with the Z4.

For sure I won't be any competition for anyone in my class because the Z4 is 12secs/lap slower than my 86 around RSR, but at least I can enjoy the day with my racing mates, and have some fun track time, probably with the top down :)

Everybody has more fun when the tops are down :tiptoe:

Here's a clip taken from my Z4 at the Michelin Cup time attack event on 25th Feb.

Red Star's many corners can get confusing.
Sometimes you just don't know which way to go - ha-ha!! (near the end)
