Hi all,
Well my new car finally arrived recently. It's not a BMW, but it's pretty sweet. Just thought I'd make one final post of my 2004 320d.
I bought it 2 years ago with 94,000km on the clock, and sold it with almost 152,000km. It was an awesome car. The only things that went wrong was the A/C stopped working (a valve or something had to be replaced), and the EGR valve on the turbo started malfunctioning. I drove the car like I stole it, especially the last 6 months, and it just kept on coming back for more. At 152,000km it didn't have a single rattle or squeek, and it still felt like a brand new car. The only problem I had with it was that it was a diesel. The sound and slight smokiness was just not cool. But nevertheless, this car has once again confirmed that BMW makes some of the best cars in the world, and my next car will most certainly be a BMW again.
I replaced it with a candy white VW Scirocco 2.0TSi DSG, which I received on Monday (27th December). This to me is the Audi R8 of VW - the only VW I would ever have considered buying was a Scirocco, just like the only Audi I would ever consider buying is the R8 (if I have the $$$). I must be honest, the Scirocco is built extremely well, the engine sounds awesome, and the DSG is silky smooth. I can't think of anything that can be made better on it.
Hopefully by the time I want to replace the 'roc the BMW M1/1 series supersport will be available, and I'll be able to afford it.
I'll still be lurking around the forums, and will let you all know when I buy my next BMW.
Cheers!
