Hozit guys,

So my BMW is driving like normal without any issues (Does feel sluggish however compared to the day i got her) but anyhow she drives fine.

Scanned the car today with an Autel and cleared all the codes and took a drive and the only codes that came back was the following

DDE: Glow Plug, Cylinder 1,2,3 and 4

Codes are

4212 Glow Plug Cyl 1 - Activation Interrupted
4222 Glow Plug Cyl 2 - Activation Interrupted
4232 Glow Plug Cyl 3 - Activation Interrupted
4242 Glow Plug Cyl 4 - Activation Interrupted

What could this mean? do i need new glowplugs? is the DDE controller faulty? Ive read that this could be cause by a faulty maf?

Like mentioned, car drives 100%, just seems to take a bit longer to go through the rev range if i push her hard.

No black smoke, still getting the same fuel consumption like before 11.5km/l (Traffic and average 40km/h to work and back daily) Comes down even more with long highway drives?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Im new to diesels and was under the impression that all diesels have glow plugs? or are you referring to something else that would cause these errors in the glow plugs?

All diesels have glow plugs, your glow plugs are probably toast... The glow plugs are needed in climates that experience extremely low temperatures, hence even if they are broken it will not affect the car in anyway in South Africa

Ahhhhh okay that makes sense! Thanks alot!
Just got pricing at R140 each so will get some and replace, this is probably why car feels a bit down on power as well?

The glow plugs will not affect the performance in any way, it's used to start the car.... Replacing them would be an absolute waste...
