Gear problems...

Right. So got my car back today after 2 attempts. The first master cylinder they put in was faulty so had to do it the second time. So finally that works...

But that is not the best news. Now my clutch is slipping really bad. you can't even pull off. So I asked the guy how the FU@# can a clutch work one day and the next it's slipping. He showed me that the clutch was on it's way out anyway, the old cylinder wasn't holding pressure properly so the clutch was permanently running closer to the flywheel. Now that the cylinder is holding pressure now it's slipping.:cry:

So since it was at the workshop I booked it in for clutch as well...

What a load of BS!!!!!
How can the master cylinder that wasn't working properly cause this? It's more like the new master cylinder is not releasing the clutch all the way to make full contact with the pressure plate and flywheel. Zack, you need to get yourself a new mechanic! This guy is milking you for all it's worth.:sorry:, but that's how I feel. You should get the car to Gizmo. This guy will break something else in his inexperienced adventures.

I also felt this guys are bullshitting me. But they are already doing me a favor so I don't want to seem ungrateful. It also made sense to me in the graph's that he was showing me of how the clutch works. So I didn't have anything to argue on. The owner came to me yesterday when he saw I was upset and I told him If they strip that thing and find that the clutch is still fine then they are going to replace it at no cost to me.

I was actually thinking of taking my car to gizmo but he is a bit far out. And when that master cylinder failed the second time I couldn't afford to drive far with it. And this dealer is only 3km from my house :(

Finally got my baby back and she drives like a dream! :joy:

Everything feels smoother. Changing up and down, even pulling off. Feels like a new car :joy::joy:

And speedy I guess we were both wrong. They weren't talking BS. They showed me the old clutch... And I know why it feels so much better now. That thing looked horrible. He even showed me the pieces of whatever that fell out of the pressure plate. That thing was gaar.

And Petri, for your sake I asked if that wear was caused by driving style and harsh acceleration and he said NO. The wear on that clutch is from age and the previous owner driving on the clutch allot in traffic. :tease:

I'm not so sure about your car but my car has enough power to keep it spinning without using the clutch

But I'll be driving more carefully anyway. These toys are expensive :fencelook:
