G5 2STEP relay

My 335i is a Manual.

Can anyone explain to me what the G5 2STEP relay does? I understand it helps with launches but how does it help shifts?

Also will it damage the clutch during in gear shifts (I know it will damage it on pull offs)...

Would one recommend the BMS clutch valve?

2 step relay cuts timing to hold a set RPM and build boost when launching.
Similar to the auto's brake boosting.

When you shift gears the the 2 step cuts timing when you depress cluch to allow flat foot shift.
Not going to damage your clutch any more than you would changing fast.
It's not good for turbos and your cats.

clutch valve is a must.
