Hi guys,

Happy New Year and with it some annoying problems.

1. One of the car keys has gone missing and while k ow you can get a cheap dupe; is BMW the only place to get a new key coded and the one removed?

2. Sometime over December the window shade holders for the rear doors broke. No idea how but I’d like to get it fixed since the window shades are otherwise useless now.

Any tips for the problems listed? I’m in JHB but happy to drive anywhere in GP to get it sorted.

Note : Yes I do have insurance on the keys; trying not to claim since I just moved insurers tbh

Hi, well wishes for the year.

Regarding the key, try Central Locksmiths on Corlett Drive.
I used them for my E85. Not sure if they can solve your issue for G01 but worth asking.

Did youcome right on the key? I also lost a key, was thinking of trying the Aliexpress keys and code it.

Try get a blank and recode it for the key.
wrt to your window blinds, how did they break as what part. Is it the holder that broke. Plastic welding can fix that for you easier if that is the case.

So an update. Gustaf’s Garage recommended an Auto Electrician and I got pricing. R4k for a key and coding. Will be going on Monday since it apparently takes a while.

As for the plasti welding, been watching some videos and going to try do it myself since this seems like a weird problem to have

Where you based?
The videos are quiet self explanatory but do use a staple or metal piece to add to the pieces for the strengthening of it.
