So at that price range what's better value between a G01 20d and an F25 30d?As expected, M Sport spec 20d cars still command a premium on the used market. But base spec cars with decent milage, and some Plan left, are around the R500k mark and represent better value. Those out of M/Plan are under R500k, though not substantially so.
I've owned both an F25 and G01 30d (recently exchanged one for the other), and driven the 20d while looking for the 30d. There's no contest even with the old F25. With the f25 you'll be trading old tech, but engine wise the 20d can't compete. Bear in mind that the 20d will most likely have lower mileage and possibly a motorplan. So at that price range what's better value between a G01 20d and an F25 30d?
If no motorplan needed, then an X5 30dSo at that price range what's better value between a G01 20d and an F25 30d?
Other thing besides the general dials etc is that they made the gearstick into a friggin stumpy! That partially swayed me towards Pre LCI. BMW design is really drinking some strong stuff recentlyAgree, 3.0d is a superb motor in many dimensions vs 2.0d.
If engine sound matters, the 3.0d sounds great too vs 2.0d.
New spec 2.0d prices makes no sense! +R1m
If you also like traditional dials, the fancy new ones are not that appealing, though the new cars tech is amazing (no issues with car play)
To this day, I regret selling my F25 3.0d M Sport Fully Optioned for just over R200k with only 155000km (timing- had to buy a property). Glad it went to a great home though.

If no motorplan needed, than an X5 30d
Clean F25 30d are super hard to find compared to X5s....
I chose an X3 G01 20d mainly for the comfort of a motorplan, at least for the next 2 years.
I would never pay R1m for a new 20d though (that is significantly more expensive than my 3.0TDI Macan!)
There are actually plenty X5 3.0d's available. On Autotrader there is a distinction between the 3.0d and "xDrive 30d". The former is usually the E53 model.Only 8 X5 3.0D on Autotrader with the newest being a 2008.
Seems like even these are hard to find.
I’d stil go for the G series X3 even with a 2.0D engine. Everything is just better than an F25 imo.

Avoid the M sport and you will find base models at a better price![]()
Excellent price.Found a nicely specced 2018 3.0D M Sport for under R600k so seriously considering that one.
Finding out trade prices for mine now to see if it will work- wanted to post it here but not sure going to have time to wait and conclude a deal

Is mileage not high at this price range or it's still good value for money?![]()
