Full monty Plasti Dipped

Hi All,

So decided to go the full monty and do the complete car, think it came out awesome if I must say myself :inlove: and not bad for the first attempt.



Have purchased all equipment needed and have added this as a addition to my current business, am a approved plasti dip applicator so anyone that needs some stuff done let me know. :thumbs:

May I ask a q?
Out of spraycan - how should the finish be of plasti dip?
I dipped my diffuser, but the texture is rough/coarse. Is it possible to get a better/smoother texture finish with plasti dip?
Am I doing it wrong?

I had the same outcome and was unhappy. Turns out my coats were too thick and 7 coats at that :facepalm:

Oh and car came out really good buddy, looks like a very neat job :thumbs:

Hey Riaan,

The product in the can does not give the best finish is alot thicker than spraying through the gun and that is the reason for the rough finish.

Thanks bud and does not have anything to do with the amount of coats if anything the more coats the better just like I said to Riaan can is very thick product.

1) How many liters of paint were used?
2) What other prep was done, other than a good wash?
3) How long did it take to prep, spray and dry between coats?
4) And what would it realistically cost to do this?

Hi Guys,

1) About 5L upwards depending on car and finish,
2) Yes Good wash and degrease to make sure car in 100% Clean
3) Depends on whats been done, atleast 20min between coats.
4) Standard 1 colour spray only, is about R7k
