How is the plug on that Hedgehog resistor on the cars loom. If its a bit melted its better to replace the plug and pins. I saw somwhere that the arcing and bad contact on the pins cause the plug to melt a bit and cause damage on the inside of the resistor for heat travels through the pin to the PC-Board in the resistor and cause damage. I replaced the Plug and Pins on my car and mine is still going perfectly.

If you want the part numbers let me know for BMW batle to find it but I found it

Pins Part number you need 4 of 61131376206 and 1 of 61131376202 item 9 in the link http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=ET36&mospid=47639&btnr=61_1296&hg=61&fg=15
The plug housing P/N is 61131383516 but ill have to double check for you

Thanks pal. Will keep these in case I need them.
The plugs and housing is still intact. I did feel that the old one that I put back to test got very hot and it is fully aluminium while the newer one is black plastic at the back. Will post some pics later.

Ok so finally this morning my car died at the robot. Swing but no start. Had to call towtruck (Tx to Edgars club)and took car to Kosie swanepoel in Stikland.
They phone me later and told me that the petrol pump is shot and a fuse has gone.
All in all they can fix it for 3.5k with new pump included:argh:. The pump at stealers cost 4K+:bangdesk:

Lucian - about two years ago my daughters E36 fuel pump packed up and I had a reconditioned pump fitted for under 1K. It was a private guy overhauling fuel pumps at his home in Tableview. If you are interested in his details please PM me and I will supply his company name and phone number and you can contact him if he still exists.

Thanks.
I think my brother also knows this guy and I did bought a pump from him b4, unless off course there is more than 1 one them in Tableview.
Any case I was stranded and had to cough up to have my car fixed.
Think I need some spare transport in case of emergency. Where I stay and the way the family operates we need 2 cars.
