While I like a little bit of CF, I think that a bit OTT, but I guess different strokes for different folks ...

I really don't like it, Toooooo much carbon! But to each his own I say... :mmm:
Maybe he works for the government and has to drive a car not detectable by radar...

Almost positive this car was leaving Auto Atlantic as I was arriving the other day. Had a very nice exhaust burble. Still can't quite decide whether I like the matt wrapped look, but obviously plenty others do, as starting to see quite a few cars here in Cape Town. There is a wrapped Z4 at Top Gear in Buitengracht Street at the mo. Funny, I read the fad is starting to wear off overseas already.

the problem i have with this is most of that if not all will just be carbon skin so it just makes it heavier which is not what carbon is ment for :(

Howzit guys,

Driving home from work today, spotted this X5 on Marine drive. Sine it took us 3hrs to get home, I think I got some semi-decent pics of the car. Looks awesome! Anyone seen this dude driving around or is he on the forums?

Pic's are a bit big, so posting up the links rather :)

Jeff, it seems like you're the only person that likes that God-awfull vinyl wrapped look.
I must agree with the rest of the guys: It is a terrible disgracing of an otherwise excellent Sports Utility Vehicle.

I think of these as the Stealth edition ;)

Looks better on smaller cars imho. Saw a SLK totally wrapped like that before I left for Cape Town, in the grey/black carbon fibre clingwrap it doesn't catch your eyes, so I guess if you're a speed demon its a good color, although I can just envisage some poor pedestrian bouncing off the front..

See it as removable paint protection - with a little fun.
Bad for weight and that texture can't be good for aerodynamics.
And please don't call it carbon fiber, it's vinyl.
