I run at 6.0l /100km on the open road at 130km/h and 7lt - 7.5lt / 100km on an average tank with about 40% town driving and the rest freeways without cruise control.

Its a E46 320d F/L - 100% stock.

It is amazing how the figures are so different between the same model cars.

I average 5.9l/100km and i managed to get 5.1 down to Durban a few weeks back.

Is that the reading on the OBC as that is not a true reflection of actually consumption. You can add safely another 1L/100km to gauge to get the real world figure

You do realise that even when the 2.3L was a 2.5L detuned it had the same consumption as the 2.5 ........My b in law has the 130i and he is getting the same as you. So you actually losing out on the power and you using the same amount of fuel........

With the Z I get between 10 and 12 depending on the amount of lead in my foot on the particular day.

With the V8 Courier PU between 20 and 30 depending on the amount of lead in my foot on the particular day.

With the 40 I get 0 but it doesn't go anywhere because it has no engine or wheels.:fencelook:

So far on 2 tanks I've been getting 800km/58L and 900km/62L which gives you 7.3L/100km and 6.9L/100km respectively or 13.8km/L and 14.5km/L.
On the E46 330d 2004 18" 225 wheels+tyres and Decat. And It's truely combined cycle. about 4-500km highway and the rest extra urban.

Worst consumption with my 330i at the coast so far has been 12.5 l/100 km - best from mostly open road driving was 8.9 l/100 km. Average in general for typical driving seems to be mid to higher 10.0 l/100 km!
