hey guys

was just wondering what fuel consumption you guys get

my X5 3.0i does about 13l/100km driving at around 150km

anything above that and it goes crazy

had to rush down to durban this past weekend and was doing 170, 180km and it averaged 22l/100km, normal?:dunno:

any help will be appreciated

I would say that is a bit high but then again if u want the horses to run you need to feed them - I also came back from DBN on Sunday with a Ford F100 bakkie running a 351 cleaveland V8 and I used 223 L of fuel just one way (621KM). So I guess you can smile about your consumption then, hehehehe
Your car should give you about 9 to 10L/100KM when driven at a reasonable/legal speed, shucks what am I saying, no one on this site drives at a legal speed, hehehe. Remember the higher the car, the greater the wind resistance and at a higher speed your consumption will increase as well.

That ford bakkie , did the gear lever break off before you got to second gear ?
X5 seems normal at 150 , wind resistance will eat petrol at higher speeds .
