Hi everyone, this is like my first post in this forum ei.
Test drove a 2009 E92 Coupe, Sports Pack, 6Speed Manual, Alpine White III, Beemer with 158km. It's going for R140k, retail is R135k. Service history till 147km, so it's due for a service soon.

Added the two year unlimited warranty & two year unlimited services, & a Tracking unit. So might end up costing about R155k.

Took a test drive on the high way with a seriously heavy right foot. The car has not much torque so I had to change down allot. Anyway we drove for a total of 60km & the screen showed 8.7l/100km.

However, gave SavSpeed a call today, got lucky and spoke Sav himself! (Tune Tech didn't pick up btw). I want to service my beemer with a tuner.

Sav told me not to buy the 320i as it has allot of issues. & it's weak AF. Said I should rather buy a 325 instead. He currently has one at his shop for R180k (or was it R190k???) But it doesn't have the Sports Pack:(

Taking the Holy Ghost (320i) to SavSpeed on Monday to do a complete test & diagnostics. Before I sign on the dotted line.

Or should I just wait for a 325i Coupe to drop in value and buy one in December???? Only keen on Sports packs. Budget is 150/70K (all inclusive) insurance is about R1400pm/R5000 excess all comprehensive.

Please help me decide. So confused right now.

You might get "the look" in a 2 door 320i with a sport pack, but to be honest you fooling yourself. The car is slow, and thirsty.

If you really concerned with performance and consumption, forget about what's on the outside and start looking at what's on the inside. Get a 320d.

Figure out what's important for you, and take it from there

Hi,I have a 2007 320i Manual with 185000km. My average fuel consumption is around 9.3l/100km with mostly urban driving.

I'm quiet impressed looking at numbers of the other cars posted.

Not sure what the purpose of your post was if savspeed and forum recommended against and decide to go for it. It seems as if you had made up your mind already.

At the end of the day, it's your money, your decision. If the 320 ticks your boxes, then go for it.

BMW had specific buyers in mind when making the 320i so it's not a wrong choice.
