Friendly warning to E90 driver

Friendly warning  to 3 series (E90) driver:
I don’t know you but from the looks of it you own (??) a well looked after white 3-series (E90) 320d with 18 inch oem wheels,  a sunroof and you fitted a BMW motorsport badge to your car over the past weekend. As a “law abiding” citizen I see you are at least wearing your seatbelt, have friends, family, colleagues .... who travels with you regularly. Live somewhere in the south of JHB travelling between  Southgate and Edenvale occasionally. Everything points to you been a respectable person.

I would not have any of this info if it was not for the fact that you are using MY number plates on your car. Probably to avoid the e-toll thing as you do not have an e-tag. Unfortunately my car is tagged and it immediately showed on my report that you are using my registration number without a tag. At least I now also have some nice pics of an E90 in white, lot nicer than my E91 in white.

So ja, just to let you know you have been reported to everyone who cares to listen, take a statement or have form that I can fill in.

There are many white 3 series BMW’s on Gauteng roads so chances are slim that this will reach the culprit but you never know.

Not a clone, just someone without a tag using my reg to avoid e-toll. Would not have known if I wasn't registered......

I am sorry this happened to you, at least you became aware of the clone because you are e-tagged.

I have to laugh at some of the hypocrisy displayed over in the e-tolling thread(s), some posters have actually mentioned getting cloned number plates to avoid paying the e-tolls, but I would love to see their faces when it actually happens that someone is using their plates illegally like it did with you now.

Did you report it to SANRAL, Metro cops or both?

My fear is this could not only be because of the e-tolls,

A few years back the same situation happened to my friend but he wrote is car off and it was standing in his yard when someone duplicated the plates and had a lot of fines with that car and even a bad hit and run, it took him a while to actually sort that issue :thumbdo:
